He served as director of the AmeriCorps/VISTA program for more than two years. As director he led more than 6,000 volunteers at the front lines of the some of our country’s most needy communities. AmeriCorps/VISTA is the largest federal government agency dedicated solely to recruiting volunteers and disseminating them across the country to provide necessary services.
